Thermal Variation

« Back to Glossary Index

Thermal variation refers to the natural, organic fluctuation of localized skin temperature driven by the human body’s internal heat-shedding and thermoregulation cycles. Because the skin’s baseline warmth continually waxes and wanes due to micro-fluctuations in blood flow, vasodilation, and vasoconstriction, the raw output of human thermal emission is dynamic rather than completely rigid.
